As previously mentioned, while Here Media has adopted the slogan Gay Media For Gay People, we actually coined this phrase in a post on The Bitchless Blog™ which was linked to by a post we made to AOL’s Propeller.com. It is our position that, one day soon, more of the Gay Community is going to be CONCERNED about the fact that most of Gay Media and most Gay .Orgs get the majority of their revenue from Conservative Corporate America (rather than from Gay People). Isn't it more than a little STRANGE that something called GAY MEDIA doesn't actually get its revenue from GAY PEOPLE? Imagine if it was learned that all of the leading Black Magazines in America were funded by The Klan? Or worst, by The Republican Party. When your money doesn’t come from Gay People, you have no incentive to be: ( a ) responsive to the concerns of Gay People; and ( b ) to be concerned about unfavorable repercussions your actions may have on The Gay Community. Take for example the call to boycott Democratic Party Fund Raisers by these Gay Bloggers (who have appointed themselves the NEW Gay Civil Rights Leaders) allegedly on The Democratic Party’s and Obama’s failure to repeal DOMA and “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”. How can The Gay Community Boycotting Democratic Party Fund Raisers possibly benefit The Gay Community? I just love the fact that this One Gay Blogger actually had the Balls to declare that The Gay Community is dissatisfied with President Obama. Did someone poll The Gay Community to learn that the Entire Gay Community in America is dissatisfied with President Obama. And, if the Gay Community is boycotting Obama and The Democratic Party, WHAT IS THEIR ALTERNATIVE? Keep in mind that: (a) most of the Gay Community has probably never even heard of this particular Gay Blogger; and (b) when not calling for a Boycott of Obama and Democratic Fund Raisers, this 30+ year old man devotes the majority of his blogging to "Sex and The City", the Twilight movies and the actor Robert Pattinson. DOMA and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell were both in place TWO PRESIDENTS before Obama took office. George Bush was President for eight years with DOMA and "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in place. The simple fact of the matters is that ACTS like Heckling President Obama and calling for a boycott of The Democratic Party don't benefit The Gay Community, THE SELF APPOINTED GAY BLOGGERs / LEADERs engage in these stunts in hopes of getting the PRESS to mention their names and websites. Once the New York Times mentions their names, these Bloggers can then go to Corporate America claiming that they are recognized Gay Leaders. In fact, we are calling the bill due NOW for these Self Appointed Gay Leaders and Gay Bloggers with ZERO SUPPORT from The Gay Community because the agendas These Clowns are pursuing have been proven to be of zero interest to the Majority of Gay People in America, The Gay Marriage Distraction being the biggest joke of them all. CLICK HERE for Lisa Dettmer's Beyond Gay Marriage Radio Documentary The Great Gay Marriage lawsuit in California challenging Proposition 8 wasn't funded by The Gay Community, it was funded essentially by ONE Gay Man with more money than brains. Just stop and consider for a minute that, thanks to this twisted universe in which you have Gay Media that isn't supported by Gay People, that, some how, the right to kill and possibly be killed in Iraq and Afghanistan has become (if you believe The New York Times actually has a fucking clue) the second most important Gay Civil Rights Issue in America after The Gay Marriage Distraction.

Gay Media for Gay People is the queer-ist and most radical movement in the Gay Community Today. And, the rejection of The Great Gay Marriage Distraction and the even more stupid focus on "Don't Ask Don't Tell" are at the heart of The Gay Media for Gay People Movement. Netscape.com's new beta design has a Gay Channel that offers the opportunity for there to once again be GAY MEDIA FOR GAY PEOPLE, instead of pretend gay media dependant on pity/diversity advertising from major corporations (major corporations that couldn't care less about gay people). The Bitchless Blog THE POST that started it all, our post to AOL's Netscape (now, propeller.com) Titled Netscape Offers Gay Media for Gay People which linked to our post on The Bitchless Blog. As we indicated, The CEO of Here Media subsequently adopted the slogan. Such equalization is precisely what the GLBT community has been hoping for, and its timing is significant. Here! TV, a paid-subscription network, has secured carriage on Time Warner Cable's On-Demand service, placing its content alongside HBO, Starz and other premium mainstays. The company provides what Here! CEO Paul Colichman calls "gay media for gay people—not for advertisers, not for straight people—to promote self-esteem within our own community," and during a recent interview he intimated a newfound interest in the print market.
