Openly Gay and Marginalized in the Mi... |
FACT NUMBER ONE: Thirty and Forty plus year old men into “Sex and The City” and Twilight are probably not the best sources for advising the President of the United States and The Department of Defense on personnel matters. When you look at the utter bullshit these Gay Bloggers and Self Proclaimed Gay Activists are writing about on their blogs (when they are not advocating boycotting Democratic Fundraisers and the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell"), you have to wonder … “Have these guys ever had any exposure to male culture? Have they spent their entire lives with women?”
FACT NUMBER TWO. The military personnel most adversely affected by Don’t Ask Don’t Tell are FEMALE and RACIAL MINORITIES. How many of these Gay Bloggers foaming at the mouth about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell are female or a racial minority?
FACT NUMBER THREE. The Department of Defense has a virtually unrestrained authority to decide who can and who cannot be granted Security Clearances.
REVELATION NUMBER ONE. Trot on down to Washington DC and talk to this guy named Frank Kameny about The Department of Defense, Gay People and Security Clearances.
Now, I could go into a long fucking discussion about how COMING OUT and being OPENLY GAY is probably the best way to guarantee that you will never get a security clearance above Secret. However, I’m pretty positive that everybody employed by the Department of Defense already knows that being gay will limited how high a security clearance you can get and, as a result, will limit your opportunities within The Department of Defense.
Back in the day when I talked to Frank Kameny, he said that The Department of Defense was "progressing" on the issue of Gays and Security Clearnces and that there were a lot of Gay People with Security Clearances employed (or associated with) The Department of Defense. However, Kameny went on to say that (at the time) there were no Gay People with Security Clearances at the CIA nor at the NSA.
Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is a non-issue being propagated mostly by clowns who have never been in the military and who, apparently, have never been exposed to male culture. If Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is repealed today, the number of MEN who will elect to be openly Gay in the Military will be about equal to the number of MEN who know who the fuck Carrie Bradshaw is.
